Sunbay Energy Corporation is an energy development company formed in 2007 to build and operate a series of energy recovery facilities in Canada.
The primary focus at Sunbay is plasma gasification, a conversion technology (recycling residuals) with high energy output and best‐of‐class environmental performance.
Sunbay has partnered with CHO-Power™, a subsidiary of France's Europlasma SA, the world's leading plasma gasification company.
Sunbay plasma facilities will make it possible to avoid the environmental and public health challenges of landfills, incinerators and fossil fuel power plants while generating an abundance of much‐needed energy. Rather than the environment and public health being an afterthought, they are Sunbay's focus and the reasons why plasma gasification is the best‐fit for most communities.
Host communities will also enjoy employment and economic benefits throughout construction and operation. Sunbay plasma projects are high‐tech facilities carrying a need for both general and highly‐skilled positions for local residents. The facility and company become active and high‐profile contributors to the community, committed to on‐going public engagement, storefront info centres and a dedication to genuine corporate social responsibility.
Sunbay projects are fully financed, principally based on long‐term revenue contracts. The sale of electricity will be formed in power purchase agreements (PPAs) with a set 116660 price per kilowatt hour. Sunbay may also derive incidental revenue from gate/tipping fess (a charge levied for materials received to be turned into usable energy), the sale of by‐products created by the vitrification process (see our FAQ section for more on Speedmaster Plasma Gasification) and from carbon credits.
