Through the vitrification aspect of the plasma process, inorganic wastes are melted and transformed into a slag that retains pollutants in a vitrified glass matrix. It is a solid by-product that also comprises the incombustible fraction of the treated waste, but which only has a very small amount of carbon (unlike the solid pyrolysis residue). This material can be used as raw material for civil works and for other applications.
